We are experienced in working with,catching,  controlling and getting rid of invasive species like the Iguana, Monitor lizard, and other invasive reptiles like many non native reptiles of concern indian or burmese python, african rock python, amethystine python, reticulated python, green anaconda and nile monitor lizard.

Large lizards like the iguana and Nile monitor lizard now live here locally. They are not supposed to be here and are a native from lands out side the continental United States and that is why they are called an invasive species. The lizards’ weapons include: sharp, snake-like teeth, long, muscular tails they use as whips, and claws that look like the sinister pendants of voodoo necklaces. They can run up to 18 miles per hour on land and swim under water for an hour at a time.

Large lizards do not belong in South Florida, somebody put them here and today we have an ongoing battle of trying to catch and capture all of the invasive species before they destroy many of our own native species like the Gopher Tortoise.

Yes the gopher tortoise is being threatened because these lizards prey on their tortoise eggs, hatchings and can even eat younger tortoises. The tortoise is part of our eco system and over 300  species rely on gopher burrows as their homes .

Releasing Nonnative Species Into the Wild

It is illegal to release any nonnative species into the wild in Florida. As of this year, penalties for certain captive-wildlife-law violations have increased, and in some instances, people who repeatedly violate captive wildlife laws and rules can be charged with a felony.
